Emu:the large bird in Australia

I was afraid of the emu because of its giantic body before I had visited Australia. When I think about a bird,I imagine the lovely small figure flying in the sky and singing beautifully in the bushes or trees. On the other hand, the emu is huge and tall.It is the world's third largest bird. The Ostrich and the Cassowary take the top positions. This Australia's tallest native bird does not fly or sing. Its legs are long and powerful. It is very frightening for me.I watched many video clips and found that emus attacked poor tourists.Consequently,I never trusted any emu standing beside me in Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. However,I had new ideas about the emus after I had observed their lives and took a very close look at them.My points of view completely changed ever since I looked into their eyes and stroked their shaggy grey-brown feathers softly. They are interesting animals.I love them.I cannot help laughing whenever I see their long necks, big beaks and curious eyes.I researched more information about the emus.I cannot believe that I am not afraid of this kind of bird any more.Visiting the Sanctuary is invaluable to me.

Kangaroo : The Australia’s most iconic animal

I had dreamed that one day I would pat a kangaroo affectionately since I watched a TV show, the America's Funniest Home Videos.I was fascinated to see the real national symbol of Australia in Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Then,my dream came true.I was surrounded by a mob of kangaroos while they were spending the day resting in shade. They are social animals that live in groups or "mobs". They did not jump but prefer to sleep when I was there. This may be because the marsupial I found were some kinds of nocturnal.Since there are over 60 different species of kangaroo and their close relatives, most are nocturnal but some are active in the early morning and late afternoon.I was very lucky to have a golden opportunity to stroke the sleepy living creature tenderly several times. It did not pay any attention to me,though.I was happy to do so because the win-win situation made me sure that I would not be kicked by the mammal with two powerful hind legs. They became my models, kangaroos in Lone Pine.

Cuddling a koala at Lone Pine

I visited Loan Pine Koala Sanctuary on Sunday, the truely remarkable place of Australia where native Australian animals can be seen. I fully inteded to spend time in Lone Pine during my holiday because my cousin told me that it was one of the famous tourist attractions I should not miss.I was really excited to see koalas, kangaroos and wombats.I wanted to watch koalas closely and snapped some pictures of me and them.I had the unique experience to hug a cute koala. It was a warm embrace. The bear-like creature was very friendly to me.I touched its thick coat.It was like a soft teddy bear tempting people to hug. Actually, koalas are not bears but they are called koala bears because they look like teddy bears. While I was holding the star,I learnt at that moment that the model smelt like eucalyptus. The fact is,they only eats the leaves and bark from Eucalyptus Trees(Gum trees). It is amazing!.I extremely like this kind of animal. It is so cute and lovely.I will never forget my first awesome experience cuddling the koala at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.

ANZAC Day :Australian War Memorial

I was up at the crack of dawn to observe Australian and New Zealand troops marching through the streets of Brisbane on the ANZAC Day.ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. It is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand. It is commemorated on 25 April every year to honour members of the soldiers who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I.They landed on the coast and were killed there by the Turkish army, who were fighting on the side of the Germans.
ANZAC Day now broadly commemorates all those who died and served in military operations for the country. Thus,I could see soldiers in various ages, families of the soldiers, the war medical persons and war dogs parading through the city.Thousands of people gathering along the streets clapped their hands in order to express their appreciation as they passed by.I felt good to see how the people showed their deeply grateful feeling to the courageous soldiers. They are their heroes.I did not reluctantly protographed the Australia's important national occasion because it was my first time seeing the special day of Australians.

Harbour Town : Brand Direct Outlet Shopping Centre

I went to Harbour Town located on Queensland's Gold Coast. It is one of the big shopping Centres in Australia.I found brand direct outlets and specialty stores with all the latest fashion there. The streets were crowded with shoppers because the inexpensive products tempted them to buy the manufactured goods.I got a brown shirt and I paid only 5 AUD.That was enough for me because I did not want to be too extravagant with shopping.Actually,I prefered window-shopping.After I had explored all the shops,I had an authentic Australian food at Red Redish Cafe ,chose by observing that it was the only restaurant that was full of customers. The food they served was for Aussies' portion.I had never had the large portion like that in all my life,so I could not ate them up.I learned a lot about food at that moment.I knew that I could save a massive money undoubtedly.Leftovers should be brought home,or share them with my cousin.I am not stingy, but I do not want to waste my money by throwing away my good food.I am sure that I can survive wherever I stay because I learn how to use money smartly.

At the Surfers Paradise beach

I visited the world-famous Surfers Paradise beach of the Gold Coast, the beautiful coast I have never seen in my life. During the day I relaxed on the famous sands of Surfers Paradise and watched people doing various activities such as surfing, swimming, playing football, sunbathing and talking to one another in the shade of trees. I just understood the real meaning of the word “sea breeze” when I directly got the experienced here. I took a deep breath as if I had never done that before. There was one thing I could not bare doing, that was going for a stroll along the beautiful beach and snapped pictures of me and my cousin,Ke. I enjoyed myself at the beach.During the night I explored a lot of international restaurants and market stalls which stretched across the promenades .I made a decision to have Thai food. Then, I bought two cheap and cheerful swimming suits, not for swimming at the coast but at the QUT swimming pool. Such a joke! I hate swimming in the sea because my body itches terribly whenever I do so. In brief, I have an allergy to salty water. Anyway, I had a great time. Surfers Paradise beach of the Gold Coast remained in my good memories, especially the relationship between me and my cousin named Ke. Thanks a thousand times to her who brought me there and supported me everything.

Life in Brisbane, Australia

The deadly hot summer month is coming again and I cannot help finding a place that has cool weather to stay.Australia, the land of wild animals,is my destination and I can say that "Bingo".I am so happy because I have made the right decision. The weather is very nice.It is approximately 25-27degrees on the Celsius scale.Food in Australia is the same as the food in Thailand.I can eat what I want until I don't think I live in the foreign country. The cost of living is not too high for me.It is just like my expense at my home town. However, there is one problem I encounter first I visit this lovely country. That is Australian English. It is very challenging to understand. On the other hand,it is a fascinating language.I love to learn it but I do not take too much time in it because of my good background in English.Aussies are friendly. They do not work hard like us so they are happy and energitic.I see a lot of people walk and shop around 2.00 p.m. on weekday.Shops are closed around 5-6 p.m except restaurants. They go home to spend their time with their family.Conversely,I see many jog in the evening. I live in the city and I think that it is like Bangkok but not.Supermarkets(Woolworth and Coles)are closed early at night.Life is rather different from Bangkok. Anyway, I love it.
